Artist Robert Myers rendering of Joe Blanton makes Joe look like the love child of John Kruk and a Vienna sausage. This is not to imply that Kruk had relations with a Vienna sausage, but we wouldn't put it past him.

MATHEMATICALLY THIS COULD BE OUR ONLY SHOT AT BLANTON.

According to the The Wall Street Journal, and they know numbers better than a Wilpon, this may be our only shot at Blanton all season. We need to make the most of it. If the Phillies' staff stays healthy, we will only see Hamels one more time, (that sucks we own him) and for the rest of the 15 games against Philly, we are looking at the pitching version of Murderers' Row with Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt. Blanton is good and would more than likely be a 3 or 4 starter on a normal staff, so he's not a push over. Plus he can swing a bat. What we need tonight is our offense to stay hot and Big Mike the Hand Licker to pitch at least like a number 2 starter and not like the dog that he was on opening day.
