Pitcher's Duel
RA Dickey matched Tim Hudson pitch for pitch today until the bottom of the 8th inning when a lead-off walk to Jason Heyward led to Atlanta's lone run. Chipper Jones, of course, drove Heyward home by lacing a sharp single up the middle.
Hudson had tremendous action on his pitches, keeping the Mets off balance all game. Craig Kimbrel struck out David Wright, Lucas Duda and Jason Bay in the 9th to earn his 45th save.
Not too much to nitpick here outside of the Mets mind numbing , season long, failure to sacrifice bunt. Today, RA Dickey failed to move the runner twice. Maybe this will help RA and the rest of his team learn how to lay one down:
