Torture: 13 Pitchers in a 9 Inning Game

Nationals 3 - Mets 2

BUSTED

Davey Johnson and Terry Collins combined to use 13 pitchers tonight in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Nationals. If Mets Blob wanted to immerse himself in the "Tony LaRussa Experience" we prefer to drink a bottle of Wild Turkey and pass out behind the wheel at a stop light. This was not managing - it was two baseball lifers trying to out asshole each other for the sake of out assholing each other.

Dillon Gee was staked to a 2 run lead and was sharp until the 6th when he fell apart faster than a Caldor Lawn Chair at a Chris Carlin family picnic. Gee allowed the Nats to tie the game but was pulled by Collins to prevent further damage. The score remained knotted at 2 until the top of the 7th when Bobby Parnell, yet again,  gave up the go ahead run.

Reyes not Right

Jose Reyes let it be known after the game that he has not been running because his hamstring is still tight and he fears blowing it out and ending his season. Though SNY reported this as news, anyone who knows Jose's game can plainly see he has not been himself. On the bright side, Jose had 3 hits tonight and is now back on top in the NL batting race.
