Spoiler - Who Cares?
The Mets topped the Braves today 7-5 to take the 3 game set at Turner Field. Ruben Tejada had a big day with a bases clearing 3 run double in the 4th and the game winning hit in the 8th. Lucas Duda clubbed a dead center, line drive, rocket off Craig Kimbrel in the 9th to give the Mets an insurance run.
Bobby Parnell almost blew the lead in the 8th, getting the first out before walking Chipper Jones and Dan Uggla. Bobby proceeded to throw a hanging meatball to Brian McCann who flew out to the warning track. Manny Acosta came on to get the last out, saving Parnell from further humiliation.
Spoiled
Mets Blob loves beating the Braves; but all the talk of the Mets playing the role of spoiler is a bit much. If the Mets bury the Braves, the Cardinals have the best shot to make the Playoffs. If the Mets bury the Cardinals the Braves will, most likely, win the Wild Card. Mets Blob cannot stomach the thought of either of those teams making the playoffs. The Blob is still pulling for a San Francisco Giant miracle finish.
