•Ribbies are Nick Evans' Miami Vice•

Mets 7 - Marlins 4
A decent start by Miguel Batista and big run support by Nick Evans and the hot bats of Angel Pagan and Justin Turner sent the Mets into the bottom of the 9th with a 4-2 lead over the Marlins.

In comes "saver of the future" Bobby Parnell to quickly piss away the win, to a tie. After Bobby set the table for the fish, he gave up a long double to former Met, Mike Cameron. Parnell hit 100 mph on the gun many times, but that did not stop the Marlins from hitting him and sending this already long, rain-delayed game into extra innings.

Jump to the top of the 12th:
Remaining hot into the wee hours, Angel Pagan ripped a single. In steps Jason Bay. Bay had the night off, and in his first AB ripped a double, giving the Mets runners at 2nd and 3rd when the on fire Nick Evens once again smoked a single into centerfield, and for the 3rd time in the game, gave the Mets the go ahead run. With 2 outs, Jose Reyes drove a single to right field and a gave the Mets an insurance run making the score 6-4.
Reyes started out the night going 0-3 and trailed Ryan Braun in the quest for the NL batting title. By the end of the Marlin marathon, Reyes went 3-6 and by the wee small hours re-took the lead over Braun. The Mets loaded the bases and picked up another insurance run when Lucas Duda drew a walk.
With the score 7-4 in the bottom of the 12th, Josh Stinson came in to record his first ever save. Thank you, Josh, for finally gutting the fish and letting Mets Blob enjoy a near closing time Happy Nightcap.
The Mets pounded out 16 hits tonight, but the pitching staff put up almost as many walks. For all the good, the bad, and the ugly, check out the box score @ NY Mets.com.
Gooooooood Nightall!
