Mets 2 - Marlins 1
R.A. Dicky was Captain Quint in the first game of a twin bill vs. the Marlins at Citi Field. Dickey fought his way out of a few jams in his 7 innings, the most impressive of which was his pick off of former Met, Mike Cameron. Dickey's pick off of Cameron was unorthodox and awesome all at the same time. View it here @ Mets.com
This was first time the Mets beat the Marlins at Citi Field all season. Dicky struck out 6 in his 7 innings of shut-out ball and more than likely would have pitched deeper into the game, but Terry Collins has him slated to pitch on only 3 days rest later in the week.
Jason Isringhausen struck out the side in the 8th, and Bobby Parnell picked up his second save, even though he gave up a solo bomb to the slumping, Gabby "Dirty to the Mets" Sanchez.
In a game that was all about pitching, the red hot Lucas Duda and Nick Evans went a combined 5-8. Josh Thole and Justin Turner drove in each of the Met runs.
BAY WATCH
Back in line up (we don't know why) Jason Bay went 0-3 and is now 2 for his last 45. Seriously! Mets Blob knows that many of you prayed over the weekend that Hurricane Irene would possibly blow the suck out of Jason Bay. No chance. By the time Irene hit NY, she was a Tropical Depression and didn't have enough power to fix the Canadian Depression that is Bay.
