Reds 5 - Mets 4

               CLUELESS TERRY
Today Sandy Alderson announced that Terry Collins has been given a contract extension and will be the Mets skipper for 2012 and 2013. Mets Blob has backed Terry for the entire season but if he continues to manage the way he has for the past few days, the Blob wants no part of him.

The Mets tied a club record by using 9 pitchers in tonight's game. What? Terry, are you kidding? This was not baseball, it was cruel and unusual punishment for anyone who tried to watch this game.

In the 9th inning - with the Mets leading 4-3 - Terry blew the game by pulling Manny Acosta with 2 outs to bring in Bobby Parnell. How many times does Terry need to see Parnell melt down before he realizes Bobby Parnell does not have what it takes when the pressure is on? As expected, Parnell allowed the Reds to tie the game.

Thanks to Terry and Bobby, Chris Capuano was prevented from winding up the season with a .500 record. Capuano has busted his butt for the Mets all year and deserved a better fate.

The game remained tied until the top of the 13th when a triple and a suicide squeeze plated the go ahead run. The Mets threatened, loading the bases in the 9th but Justin Turner lined into a game ending double play.

JOSE
Jose Reyes had a monster game, crushing two long home runs and adding a single. Jose finished the night 3 for 6 taking a narrow lead over Ryan Braun  in the NL batting race. Reyes and Braun will settle things tomorrow. Let's do this, Jose.

Reyes also played a spectacular game in the field making a play in the 8th that no other shortstop makes. With the tying run on second, Jose ranged far behind the 2nd base bag and laid out - full extension - to snare a hard smash hit by Chris Heisey. Jose bounced to his feet and gunned out a stunned Heisey at first.
