IS IT MY HAT?
WE'VE DROPPED 3 IN ROW, AND IT'S MY FAULT.
I'm sorry, Met fans. We have dropped 3 in a row, and I think it's all my fault. See I had the moxie to buy a new Met hat the other day, and ever since, we have not won a game. Being a self loathing, neurotic Met fan, I'm convinced it's my fault for buying the hat. The hat made the pitching staff suck, the hat is walking guys, the hat can't get guys in from 3rd, the hat is causing errors, and the hat is taking called third strikes. The hat is evil, and I invited it into my home! How do I properly exorcise it to break the spell of my local Lids store? Damn you, demon cap! Help Met fans! Help! I'm soooo sorry! My head feels battier than Pelfrey's belfry! I'm going mad I tell ya, mad!
METS LOSE HOME OPENER 6-2 TO THE NATIONALS

Tricky Dickey
TRICKY DICKEY, TAKE US HOME!
My fellow Met fans...who better to open Citi Field in 2011 than R.A. Dickey? If we ran the team, he'd be our choice for number one starter...because Mike Pelfrey is nuts. Like us Met fans, R.A. has heart, guts, and a can do spirit...plus a nasty knuckle ball. Enjoy the game everyone! It has to better than that shit storm in Philadelphia on Thursday.

MR. MET IS GOOD TO GO!
MR. MET IS READY FOR THE HOME OPENER!
Mets Blob reported just one week ago that Mr. Met might miss the home opener due to a shoulder injury. (see original post) Now insiders tell us he has arrived in NY from his rehab assignment in Florida and is good to go for the home opener Friday at Citi Field. When asked about his quick turn around, Mr. Met had this to say, "Watching that Philly Phanatic flop around and taunt our team really got my stuffing in a knot. He's such a hack. We have R.A. on the mound, and he is a real gamer. I want to be there for him, the fans, and all of New York. I'm bringing my A game on Friday, and as always, I'm going totally balls out. The pain will vanish when I see the fans." After being romped by the Phillies today, this good news could not have come at a better time.

PHILLIES 11
It's hard to find words to help Met fans deal with today's train wreck of a game. Much in the same way it's hard to know just what to say to a fella after he's been gang raped in the prison laundry room. Hallmark just doesn't make a card for that.
• Halladay was awesome.
• Philadelphia's bats were explosive.
• Jon Niese started out well and then fell apart.
• Our defense was a sloppy mess, and a lot of it was mental.
• The only positive we can give you is that this was a .500 road trip. If we were offered a 3-3 road trip to start the season a week ago I'm sure most of us would have taken it.

Halladay will be no picnic
YOU CAN BEAT ROY THE ROBOT
Halladay is the real deal. But even the great ones have a loss column. We need to be smart and aggressive at the plate today. The 2K poster boy will not make many mistakes...but when he does make a mistake, we must make it hurt. We have Niese going for us today. Jonathon Niese has matured a lot as a pitcher in a short period of time considering his injury set backs. We wish Mr. Nuke Laloosh Pelfrey would take some notes from Niese on how to compete. We see Jonathon having a strong outing today, maybe 6 to 7 innings. He'll keep the game close enough to possibly steal this Halladay road trip.

Late Reflections on last night

• The team fought hard and erased a 7-0 deficit.
• Pelfrey’s troubled Little Leaguer act is tired. Grow up and compete.
• At least Collins had the stones to pull Pelf early. Jerry would have left him in until he curled into the fetal position behind the mound.
• Phillies took the lead back on some cheap hits.
• Hitting Coach Dave Hudgens was interviewed during the game. He spoke about Pagan’s swing and seems to know his stuff. They showed him actually working with Angel during the game. Other than cozying up to David Wright, Howard Johnson did nothing for the Mets. We loved you in 86 HoJo, but your approach to hitting was never cerebral - you were a hacker at the plate. You drilled the fastball and hit mistakes. We thought you would be a lousy hitting coach when they hired you and we were right.
