No Sweep in the House of Horrors

Braves 9 – Mets 8

This was tough. The Mets came back from 4 runs down tonight to take a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 9th inning but a sweep at Turner Field was not to be.

 The Good:
• Scott Hairston crushed a three run homer in the top of the fifth inning to even the score at six.
• Jose Reyes had three more hits and made a crazy bare handed play on a Jason Heyward chopper.
• Jason Bay had two hits and, though they were singles, hit the ball with authority.

The Bad:
• R.A. Dickey did not have it tonight putting the Mets in a big hole.
• K-Rod blew the lead giving up a 2 run homer to Brooks Conrad in the bottom of the 9th.

The Ugly:
• Lucas Duda pulled a Daniel Murphy, ranging way off first base to prevent Ruben Tejada from fielding a routine ground ball in the bottom of the 10th. With Tejada on the field there is no need to leave your position. Let Ruben field the ball.
• D.J. Carrasco balked in the winning run.
