Jon Niese was on again tonight, out pitching Jair Jurrjens to earn his 6th win of the season. Jose Reyes had three more hits and two more runs scored and two more stolen bases and an RBI. Reyes continues to be the best player on the field night in and night out. Carlos Beltran stole a base tonight and made a great leaping catch against the right field fence to rob Chipper Jones of an extra base hit in the 8th. Tim Byrdak came on to get two huge outs in the 7th and K-Rod pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 19th straight save. Mets Blob thought Terry Collins pulled Niese too soon but the pen - other than a Jason Isringhausen 8th inning hanger to Dan Uggla - got the job done.

SNY Can’t We Just Watch the Game?

SNY continues to miss game action to show Kevin “The Wandering Mannequin” Burkhardt interviewing anyone he can get his manicured hands on. Tonight SNY cut to Kevin in the bottom of the 8th inning so we could hear from Tim Byrdak. We couldn’t wait till the end of the game to hear from Tim Byrdak? Oh yeah, during Kevin’s exclusive sit-down with President Byrdak, Dan Uggla homered to cut the Met lead to one run. Too bad we missed it.
