Jon Rauch then shit the bed in the 8th and loaded the bases. Every Met fan could feel in their rightfully ultra paranoid soul that an epic Chuck Norris kick to the scrotum was about to knock the thin Rocky mountain air out of New York. Pinch hitter Todd Helton hit the Tim Byrdak pitch out of park with the torque and violence we all wish we could hit Jerry Sandusky with.
With the game tied at 4 in the top of the 10th the Mets took the lead when Kirk "The Captain" Nieuwenhuis knocked in Mike Baxter with a double. In the bottom of the 10th Frank Francisco fucked the victory pooch and gave up a game-tying solo line drive homer to Carlos Gonzalez.
In the top of 11th Ike Davis gave the lead back to New York with an oposite field single that plated David Wright. With all Ike has struggled this season it was nice to see him get the big hit and even nicer to see him go the other way with it. Ramon Ramirez let a few balls get bowel shakingly deep at Coors Field but held on to get the save and finally get the Mets the win. At 13-9 the Mets now sit only one game behind the Braves and Nationals for top spot in the National League East.
