When the Mets presented Mariano Rivera with the Citi Field pitching rubber after he humiliated them for for his 500th save, Mets fans were up in arms.
However, nothing on the Yankee Ass Kiss scale can compare to what the Mets pulled yesterday.
In a gesture of "sportsmanship" Mets Manager, Terry Collins volunteered to escort Mariano to the hospital for evaluation and will continue to act as Rivera's part time nurse throughout the season.
Collins was perplexed why Mets fans would look down on his act of kindness: "Jesus, it's not like we were out west. We were in Philly, for God's sake. It's a quick shot up the Turnpike for me. It's the least I could do."
